A Modern "Vintage" Find! The first of the year.

Just a few days ago I found myself in Lowe's here in Las Vegas. As I was in the garden center waiting in line to checkout, I happen to glance over at a shelf of succulents and what did my eyes see? These adorable ceramic glazed bird planters!

I immediately took to them because they reminded me so much of the vintage ones you find out and about. Are they exactly the same? No, but they are so close, it's hard not to mistake them for the real deal. I am not a fan of succulents - however, I wasn't a plant lady either until recently - so I just took some pictures for IG stories content, looked at them lovingly, and continued to check out.

Wouldn't you know it... a little birdie - or in this case two - keep chirping in my ears for the next couple of days. I found myself back in Lowe's to grab a few more supplies and couldn't help but grab one of the red faced and green faced bird planters!

I plan on repotting my succulents into some Grecian Urn looking planters I got a few years back from the 99 cent store (They were 1.99 each, wonder why they went out of business?). That way I can use the planters for what I originally imagine them for... table decor for votives, or fresh flower cuts, or maybe for some mixed nuts or candy!

While I couldn't find anything too similar with a google search, I did want to share these images of actual vintage bird planters. The cost of the new ones were 9.99 each, which you can often find vintage planters at a similar price if the seller isn't that familiar with vintage pottery brands.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you are showered with blessings all year long!
