Dear Pale Skin,
You know I will always love you, but for now I need to say good-bye. I am enjoying living life to the fullest right now and that includes spending time with my loved ones out in the sun. I will continue to do my best to protect you and do what I can to keep you near me, but if you happen to go away and I find that a bronzed me takes your place, I will not apologize. I can't say no to discovering the fun the lake and town have to offer. Riding my bike throughout downtown and finding new places and outdoor eateries is putting a smile on this girl's face. I can't help that I tan so beautifully, but as I said before I will do my best to protect you and shelter you and hope that one day you will return to me. But for now... I am going to live my life to the fullest!
Love Always,
Lolita
that reminds me of one summer when I got "super tan" but I was still about 50 shades lighter than everyone else I know :) Maybe you'll luck out and stay pale (If that's what you want anyways)
ReplyDeletehahaha too cute! Have a great summer, and enjoy life!
ReplyDeletehere here!!! I agree! In the 30s, a good tan was seen as part of ideal "leisure class" beauty for women, so a vintage look and a tan need not be diametrically opposed! I've been slathering on spf 45 every day and still am browner than ever before (summer's not even half over yet). Oh well, I've enjoyed the activities that led me out doors so much that it was worth it!
ReplyDeleteSame problem every year.. I love the pale skin during the rest of the year but every summer I crave the tanned look... crashes with my style! hehe
ReplyDeleteBetty2Tone... That is kinda what I am hoping for. That I stay shades paler than the average gal!
ReplyDeleteMiss Matilda... I am still going to strive for the pale, but I am not going to let my vanity keep me from enjoying the weather!
Lainie... Thank you!! You have a wonderful summer as well!
BvV... I know what you mean! Now I LOVE the pale look and I have always preferred it, but it upsets me when people think that you have to be white to be vintage. :( Look at any old color photograph and one will see that that is not nessasarily true. Even my love Mr Grant loved the tan! A bit too much for my tastes however, but I love him anyway. :) I think too many girls see Dita as their one stop vintage shop...
Miss K... Hahaha I think real tans look awesome with vintage -- it's the fake bake orange that ruins the esthetics of the vintage maiden. I say go out and get a tan, but be safe while doing it!
