Sunday Laundry Day

Does anyone else enjoy laundry day as much as I do? I wish I had more laundry to do! I say that, but I only enjoy doing my laundry. I can't say I'd have as much fun washing others' dirty clothes!

Happy Sunday everyone! What are your plans for the day that marks both the end of the weekend and the beginning of the week?

Classic Hurrell

Most people who are into vintage or love old Hollywood are also fans of the black and white classic photography styles of George Hurrell. I am no exception.

I played around with some light and shadows to create these portraits. I couldn't do much movement with the lighting, since I was shooting in a space not much wider than the chair I was sitting in. But overall, I think I did well for my limited abilities.

Though I am topless in most of the photos I feel like they still hold the elegance and charisma that the classic noir photos had back when Hollywood was Hollywood! So enjoy these censored photos. I do have the uncensored ones posted on my OnlyFans.

Forgive me for always posting/linking to my OnlyFans. It is now the base of my operations and everything I post online is posted in full there. I still think that readers of this blog can enjoy the content even if it is posted in a "sample" manner.

Thank you for reading!!

Surrender Dorothy

Last month I had a wonderful time doing a Dorothy bound from Wizard of Oz using what I had on hand at home. I thought this was a delightfully modern/vintage way to portray the 1939 version of Dorothy Gale that MGM brought to life! Notably her ruby slippers, or in my case my ruby roller skates!

I had this gingham blue playsuit I originally bought for summer skating outside. My friend Pony happened to mention that it reminded her of Dorothy and at that moment my mind took off to do a Dorothy bound. I was happy to be able to reuse my brown long wig I purchased for my Amy Fisher Burlesque act I did for Tease & Tails' True Crime 2: Crimes of Passion. Though it had bangs, as opposed to Dorothy's rolled back locks, I was happy just to "get my money's worth" from this wig. I remembered I had a pair of vintage 1950's red pumps that would look lovely with the gingham playsuit. While not the cinematic ruby sequined slippers, it still conveyed the overall look. While hoping I had some light blue socks that didn't clash with the playsuit, I happened by my roller skates. How PERFECT!! The red suede boots and red wheels would give my Dorothy a more personal touch! I then found a faux wicker purse to complete the look simulating her basket. Lastly as a small detail to the original book by L. Frank Baum, I picked up my (teal) green heart shaped glasses to pay homage to the Emerald City. You see, The Emerald City was such because one had to wear emerald colored glasses in the city making everything appear that jubilant green!

So off Pony and I went to The Velveteen Rabbit here in Las Vegas. They just remodeled their back patio which to their description was a Polly Pocket heaven. The mural on the wall had bold floral designs, which worked even better for me as I noticed there were poppies painted in the mix!

I really enjoyed doing this look and wouldn't mind doing it again just for fun! It's too bad that the MGM casino/hotel renovated it's inner decor years ago and removed all the references to Oz. What a fun place to have strolled around in!

Cadillac Dreams

Recently Burlesque Legend (and Vegas resident) Big Fannie Annie died. My friend Anita Brassiere, was one of only a few of Fannie's "Burlesque Daughters" and thus was trusted with selling Fannie's car. It was only fitting that Anita came up with an idea of doing a 70's vibe photoshoot with the car and to use sex appeal to sell it. Fannie would have loved it! So Anita asked me along with fellow Burlesquer, Ily Royale to pose with the car and we had a stupidly great time doing it!

The Brains behind the shoot - Anita Brassiere. The Booty behind the behind - Ily Royale. The Bitch behind the edits - Darkbloom Imagery (me).

Fun fact, I had hurt my leg the day before this shoot and because of that I found myself unable to stop while cruising really fast down a hill and completely ate it in the grass! I am really upset and hurt no one got it on video! It was an epic wipeout! I am glad that it didn't keep me from shooting this set! It was hilarious, but I'm still hurting from it today!

This is one of those rare -- straight hair sets for me! Not sure if you will ever see it again! :-D

Also, Anita's ad for the car is too great NOT to share!

Rosedale Smut

As a Burlesque entertainer with a flair for vintage, you can only imagine that along with the girl next door pinup shoots I do, I also LOVE the smut!

Now I know smut isn't for everyone. That is why I try to keep all of my "public" smut relatively tame.

But for those of you that do enjoy smut with vintage elements like seamed stockings... Let me share my OnlyFans link! You can subscribe for free!

You can see more photos like this for free! You can also purchase the full length video for extra smuttiness you won't see here.

An Adventure a Shark Tooth Hill

I just had an incredible time out at Ernst Quarries near Bakersfield, CA! My friend Eric invited me out to join him on an adventure digging for shark teeth out at Shark Tooth Hill!

Though the weather was far too hot to be tramping around in the desert (it was 109f), Eric and I had way more fun than we ought to be allowed to have!

Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos or videos of us actually doing the digging. A combination of excitement and sun stroke had me forgetting to capture the moments! I did manage to get a few pictures of my outfit (that I put together weeks in advance). By time I snapped the pictures, my clothes were grubby, dusty, sweaty, and dirty! The sun, wind, and dust had all destroyed my curls, and I just looked disheveled.

Some highlights included;
  • Even though we were late, unprepared, no cash, only card, owner, Robert was amazingly hospitable and kind and allowed us to drive back into town to grab the cash we needed for entry and take us in after we returned.
  • I was digging through the sand with my bare hands when I uncovered a 3 inch scorpion and was nearly stung! In my excitement to capture the fat little creature on film, I accidentally lead it to it's death when it hopped over a small mound right into a black widow's web, which she was more than happy to battle him and make him her next meal. I felt (and still feel) terrible for this and can only hope that this appeases Neith and pray that Serket doesn't take vengeance on me!
  • Though we only found a small lot of teeth, Eric found the prettiest (nearly a perfect specimen) tooth and I found the biggest. I only found one other tooth after that. I did find 2 neat fossilized bone pieces that were the nub parts. Fossilized bone shards are plenty out there!
My Collection
With all that said, we cannot wait to go back!! Hopefully this winter when the sun isn't so brutal and we can continue our digs without dying from dehydration!

Here is a video my friend Eric made from the trip.

Summer Haze

Last week I did a little impromptu vintage inspired shoot for my OnlyFans. I originally wanted to shoot against some floral foliage, but the landscapers came by and cut them all away, so I found another spot in my neighborhood and attempted to shoot on a half wall with shrubbery behind me. It's not as pretty as what was originally planned, but I think the photos came out pretty nicely!

I shot some in dramatic lighting (will post those later), but I also loved these brighter shots so I wanted to share!!

1940s Feather Bangs

Here is a follow along with me video for an authentic 1940s style! This particular one is a photo I found on the internet called Feather Bangs and was by Betty Reeder of Betty Redder Salon of Beauty in Pasadena, Cal.

It wasn't until the final video was being uploaded that I realized I made a bit of a mistake. Would that have made the outcome different? Possibly. I guess we'll never know... Ahahahaha!

Sleepy Time Gal

Last year I helped a friend of mine, Wayne Minert, by modeling for a project he had in mind and because of that I was able to get a few photos from the shoot. I am still waiting for his project to be finished up - so that will have to wait for a future post.

I am wearing a vintage tieback nightgown I found thrifting in Las Vegas. It was from a store I don't recall the name of as I had only been to it the one time I found this nightgown. I have my hair in a smattering of rolls pinned up and covered in a vintage hair scarf that was gifted to me by a friend. The hair scarf is a gradient blue into white with little pearls sewn on.

It was fun getting back to some good 'ol fashioned pinup photos. I hope I can do more soon!

Until then... Enjoy your Sleepy Time Gal!
