Bettina May is a sweetheart and beautiful to boot so I had to support her. Go-Go Amy is definitely a name in Burlesque and when you see her, you'll know why! Wowzas! Heather Holliday and Donny Vomit were just as fantastic and really added a speacial touch to the show!

"Sew What?" Edition 3 Chapter 1

Western shirt for the beau.

You will notice in the post previous to this one that I just aquired a bunch of patterns that I am super excited to start on. Unfortunately, I have been promising my sweetheart a shirt of his own, so before I get started on those, I think I need to start and finish up his shirt first.

I have never made a man's shirt before, so I am a bit nervous. On top of that, it is one size too large in men's sizing so I am going to have to shrink it down some. Before I get started on the actual material of the shirt, which I stil have yet to get, I think it will be saftest for me to do a muslin mock up first. I will be doing all altering on the shirt itself and not the pattern cut out as I don't have one of those handy gride things for sewers.

I think my least favourite part is the pinning, unpinning, repinning... ugh. It is because of this that it usually takes me 4 weeks to do a 1 day job. In fact, I actually started to cut this pattern out about 3 weeks ago. I decided that I should fly with the excitement of the new patterns and finish cutting out the muslin for Perry's shirt. I am happy to say that the pattern is officially cut out and now I am ready to start sewing the muslin mock together.

For those curious, I am making version C. Not sure of the colors yet though... maybe a cream with dark olive yolk and black trim?

New patterns!

*squee*!! I wanted to share with you all the new patterns I got over the weekend. Now I need you dear Lollipops to help me choice which one I should make first! This reminds me... I still need to finish writing an entry on the jumper! Oops!

So darling Lollipops... which one should I do first??

Dear Dick Powell

Dear Dick Powell of the 30's,

I do not like you. You are whiney, whimpy and I don't care for your singing.
Sincerely, Lolita

Dear Dick Powell of the 40's,

I like you. You have matured, roughened and your acting ain't half bad.
Sincerely, Lolita

A little more modern...

A few days ago I did another shoot with the handsome Perry La Fine. Normally I don't do much 60's even though I have an appreciation for it, but this set was just too darling to pass up! Besides, photoshoots are my time to play dress up! I like to mix it up now and again. So check it out! Some swinging 60's fun fun fun!!

Link exchange?

Dear fellow readers... My website LolitaHaze.com will be launched quite soon so I wanted to get on top of some things before then. Right now I am looking for people who want to do a link/banner exchange. Mind you, my site will be adult in nature, but not pornographic. You uppity tight panties can argue over the distinction between the two amoungst yourselves... anyway, for those of you who are interested in link exchanging it can be for your blogs, your etsys, anything that is somehow related to what I do and who I am... Burlesque, vintage, pinup, photography, fetish, ect... and I have the right to not link your site if I don't want to or don't like you. Hah!

So if you are interested please email me a 468pxX60px banner and your web address to LolitaHaze1@gmail.com

Please take any of these banners and place it on your site as well... afterall, that is how a link exchange works!

Thanks!
