Pretty packaging, but not for me.

Unfortunately, I have to say that trying out Boots cold cream was a disaster for me. After only one use it broke me out terribly. I have it a second try and my face was left pimply and red. So in only 3 days of not using it my face has calmed down significantly. I regret having to say that Boots, while pretty in the packaging was not pretty on my face. Far too perfumed I think. I'll stick to Pond's and LUSH.

  2. Yeah, I was disappointed for sure, but at least I know for sure that Pond's and LUSH work for me. I just liked the packaging on Boots.

  3. I tried Boots Cold Cream once too, though the jar was very vintage looking and sent to me by someone in London. I didn't care for it, but it fortunatly didn't break me out. I wonder if there is more than one formulation? If I recall, the British version I tried had a higher water vs. mineral oil content than Ponds.

  4. Yeah, my face was all red and blotchy! Not to mention the zits! Ick! I think it is because it is heavily perfumed. I once tried Jergen's cold cream as a cheaper alternative to Ponds and it did the same thing and that too was heavily perfumed.

  5. OMG~ it's off my list now!

I use crowes cremine currently, it did the same to me for a week, but my spots are all gone now and my skin is lovely now, yummy!

  8. MissMatilda... Perhaps I didn't try the cold cream out long enough, but I wasn't going to risk my face getting any worse! Especially knowing that I have super sensative skin. There was something in it that I am unaware of, but it made it feel slightly burning... Don't know why or what though.

Kate... Yeah, unfortunately for me I have REALLY sensative skin and it just did NOT like Boots. :(

A*D*D... It is not so perfumed that it is unbearable, but it was heavy enough in the perfume for me to wonder when I first opened it. Sadly their packages are sealed so I couldn't sniff it in the store to check it out first. Just be careful if you end up trying it.

  9. Oh dear! Well I apologise for recommending that line - I've never tried anything from the line itself, my cold cream is from their traditional range they've done for years, and that one is new this year. The old one has no added rose scent. You're not the first that's said it felt burny to sensitive skin. Poo.

  10. Ohhhh dear, I'm so sorry to hear about this product's affect on your skin. I have terribly, crazily sensitive skin myself, so I can fully relate to breaking out (usually I get eczema or hives from products that bug my skin). I hope that your skin feels all better really soon, honey.

    Big hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

  13. This range is stunning and delightfully vintage - but it is quite cheap so probably doesn't have very nice ingredients!
