Hair Chronicles

Having a wonderful lunch with my fella... no fun photos, just ones of my hair.

I am in desperate need of a good conditioner. My trusty Ultimate Oil Therapy conditioner by Soft-Sheen Carson isn't doing it job anymore and my hair is dry and brittle. So if anyone has any recommendations... please pass them on!!

  1. I can't remember - did you ever have any luck with Cholesterol? That does the trick for me...

  2. I've tried it in the past, but I can't recall ever being super amazed by its power of moisturizing. So I am guessing it didn't work for me. It is usually cheap enough I should try it again.

  3. They might not be as fun as the last photos, but they are still lovely!

    Thanks doll,

  4. Thanks so much! Now if I could only rid myself of the kink around my forehead! Then I would rule the glamour world! LOL

  5. although it can be a bit pricier, I found Frederic Fekkai's hair treatment product to be AMAZING. It's basically this creamy conditioner that you leave on for 15 minutes...I have really brittle hair (thick, dry) and I find it does an amazing job of re-nourishing. I've run out of it so I'll have to check out the exact name...

  8. Biosilk conditioner is surprisingly good. It's only like $7 or $8 at TJ Maxx too.

  9. Well your hair looks fab!
I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions for conditioner, though.

  10. I have to give a shout out to Aphogee at Sally's. You use this then put a heavy duty conditioner (like Feria) afterwards. This saved my hair at one time!

  11. Olive oil. seriously, and use cheap stuff, but use olive oil. i used to have hair down past my fanny and oiled it once a week before i washed it. my hair is coarse and wavy. i still do that trick but not as often as i should. it shouldn't be drippy, just about a teaspoon at max unless your hair really soaks it up. I put that on and an old bandana and sleep then wash in the morning. or i do it in the morning if i plan to stay home and wash my hair at night - like i am doing right now!

  12. WOW, you look more and more gorgeous all the time!

Have you tried a stipping agent(such as a clarifying shampoo)? That might not help with your particular issue, but sometimes when hair seems dry, it really just needs to be stripped of all of the conditioners and gels, etc. Who knows, but worth a thought :)

  13. I will find out the magic my hairdresser gives me in a small bottle. I apply it once a week and it smells like bananas lol
    Also
"its a 10" which is $$$ like $16 for a bottle that last a month with me applying after every shower. I love it and everyone I show it to LOVES it too!

  14. I recommend trying Joico K-pak reconstruct products.
I also have platinum hair, and then I made the silly(more like very very stupid) mistake of getting a perm! My hair was so so awful! I attribute my hair not breaking off 1" from the root soley on these products. They're pretty affordable too!
