Vintage Hour on Womens View Radio

This past Wednesday I was interviewed by Womens View Radio as their vintage guest. While there were many possible topics about my vintage lifestyle to talk about, it was Burlesque that seem to be what most of the time was spent on. I really enjoyed the interview and I can't wait until I am a guest on the show again. Also take note that other vintage lovelies such as Fleur de Guerre and Lisa Freemont have also been past guests!

You can listen to the entire hour long interview here.

My Hollywood Hero

No not Mr. Cary Grant -- although that is true of him as well, but this time I am talking about my beau, Perry La Fine. He humored me and my desire to start shooting photos again and posed so gentlemanly as my model. He hated every minute of it, but I think he makes a great model!

Playsuits

I am having a great new love for playsuits. I currently have 3 -- 2 of which I have sewn myself and one that is vintage.

Here is a photo of me from the 4th of July goofin' it up in my new playsuit. It is a navy blue with little sailors all over it and other navy themed characters. I made this from an EvaDress Pattern. I didn't do it 100% right -- no top stitching the shorts darts and seams, but I still enjoy the outfit and this is surely to become a fast favourite outfit of mine for the summer.

Jelly Belly

This Sunday Perry and I finally made it to the Jelly Belly factory to take a tour. We, and by we I really mean just me, were quite excited to take this tour. Unfortunately the tour was a disappointment. No actual viewing of the factory, but just video displays at each corner of the warehouse. It was a bore. We ended up joking the the "free tour" was just a free tour to the Jelly Belly store. Which I too fell victim of as I got myself some Jelly Belly goodies.

One good part about heading out was that this was their anniversary weekend and they had a carnival. Now I am a carnival whore. I will ride any ride and ride it over and over again. This carnival was small, but had enought fun rides for a delightful afternoon. Not many pictures were taken, but I will share with you what I have.

Also, the dress I am wearing is my newest one that I have sewn. It was my first "border pattern" dress and I am quite happy with how it turned out. The only bad part is that it is polyester, so it is a bot hotter than I had hoped for, but I loved the colors and the floral design too much to say no to it's $2 thrift store price tag. I paired the dress with a pair of pink and clear wedges from the 70's.

Dear Pale Skin,

Dear Pale Skin,

You know I will always love you, but for now I need to say good-bye. I am enjoying living life to the fullest right now and that includes spending time with my loved ones out in the sun. I will continue to do my best to protect you and do what I can to keep you near me, but if you happen to go away and I find that a bronzed me takes your place, I will not apologize. I can't say no to discovering the fun the lake and town have to offer. Riding my bike throughout downtown and finding new places and outdoor eateries is putting a smile on this girl's face. I can't help that I tan so beautifully, but as I said before I will do my best to protect you and shelter you and hope that one day you will return to me. But for now... I am going to live my life to the fullest!

Love Always,

Lolita
