As for her ups and downs in her life.....NO ONE IS PERFECT.God bless her , even now.
I hope her childrens' lives turned out much better.🙏❤Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02855391040336895203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835147841592512804.post-82430072877694741232016-12-01T22:40:12.613-07:002016-12-01T22:40:12.613-07:00I'm surprised by the lack of empathy or even a...I'm surprised by the lack of empathy or even attempt to understand addiction both in this review and in the comment section. No, addicts shouldn't be given a pass just because they're addicts and so often leave behind all kinds of collateral damage, but addiction is a serious issue, and the number of people going, "Oh, drunks annoy me. She was just an unlikable drunk," shows an enormous lack of any kind of empathy or understanding. I hope none of you has ever had to deal with addiction yourselves or through someone you love because the easy dismissal of it as something that's just an annoying inconvenience from most of you is troublesome. She had a horribly sad life that clearly lacked much happiness, and most of the attitudes about it here (again both in the review and the comment section) are judgmental (as if you're the person who gets to decide which tragedy is good enough to "make her drink" and make her struggles as an addict valid) and heartless. More than anything, I feel sorry for her. Her addiction just about helped her ruin every part of her life, and it killed her. No one has to like her, but Jesus, she had serious problems and was very candid about them, and all anyone can say is that it made her irritating. Also, she lost a child. She literally lost a baby, and you guys are sitting around whining about how she's irritating for not having a good enough reason to become an addict. For God's sake.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835147841592512804.post-9919432773780035422014-12-24T02:48:07.338-07:002014-12-24T02:48:07.338-07:00I haven't read the book but did read somewhere...I haven't read the book but did read somewhere that she may have been diagnosed as having bi-polar or borderline personality syndrome - which may explain, at least in part, her drinking. She may have become alcoholic as means of medicating herself and who knows - felt like passing her kids off to their father was better than being with her.... I loved "I Married A Witch." Also, I thought she was diagnosed as a schizophrenic and suffered with bouts of mental illness? That could explain the alcoholism and erratic behavior. And what could have been a reason, wasn't because she was already drinking. But who knows. I doubt her autobiography was a tell all.Lolita Hazehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04348826614712363322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835147841592512804.post-88692673838478835112011-05-07T17:05:08.083-07:002011-05-07T17:05:08.083-07:00Am I the only one who actually feels pity for her?...Am I the only one who actually feels pity for her? But yeah... just a bunch o' drunks. I missed that! I am going to have to get that book. I'd like to see him through her eyes.

Trixie... Hahaha That made me laugh, but yes, like you I have no patience for drunks -- especially those that pass off their kids as well.

ADD... I did warn ya! But yeah... she was every bit as exciting as I thought her to be. Although there was one funny story. She told about how she never took part in the casting couch although it was rampant. One day a producer brought her in his office, stood up from behind his desk with his dick laid out and she threw a thin dictionary on it and it landed just right. That story I liked. :)Lolita Hazehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04348826614712363322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835147841592512804.post-78958277912230991242011-05-02T21:34:20.306-07:002011-05-02T21:34:20.306-07:00Well....that definitely takes all the glitz and gl...Well....that definitely takes all the glitz and glamor away from her now doesn't itart deco damehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08918869259278566485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6835147841592512804.post-10659303125010298292011-05-02T13:16:52.235-07:002011-05-02T13:16:52.235-07:00Er drunks. I guess Veronica was sort of the Linsey Lohan of her day?
Did you see the piece on CBS Sunday Morning about Cary Grant? His daughter wrote a book about him called "Good Stuff"...she clearly adored him.
Thanks for posting your book reviews!momodeluxevintagehttp://www.momodeluxevintage.etsy.comnoreply@blogger.com
